Chimney sweep logs do not sweep chimneys. They loosen some creosote - which then falls where a brush and vacuum still have to collect it.
DuraFlex Gas Fireplace Repair in Las Vegas: What to Know First
DuraFlex gas fireplace repair in Las Vegas typically runs $150 – $450 for most component-level fixes, and we can usually have a technician at your home within 2 – 3 business days. We’re an independent DuraFlex service provider, which means we troubleshoot and repair these systems every week but we’re not bound by manufacturer pricing or warranty-only parts decisions. If you own a DuraFlex vented gas log set, an insert, or a fireplace with a DuraFlex liner system, this page explains what fails, what it costs, and how we fix it.
Call (725) 600-0308 and a live person picks up, 24/7. Cory Mitchell owns Hadley Chimney Las Vegas, and his crew has been working on gas fireplaces across the valley since 2003.
How DuraFlex Products Fail – and How We Fix Them
DuraFlex makes flexible aluminum and stainless liner systems and venting components used inside gas fireplaces and gas log sets. The brand shows up in two common places around Las Vegas: the DF Corr/Guard liner (a flexible aluminum liner for gas appliance venting) and the DuraFlex SW (Smooth Wall) liner, which gets used in higher-efficiency gas inserts. Both are solid products. But they fail in predictable ways, especially in our climate.
- DF Corr/Guard liner kinking at the firebox connection. This is the call we get most often. The flexible aluminum liner gets pulled too tight during installation, kinks at the 90-degree bend behind the firebox, and over time the crease restricts exhaust flow. The symptom is a gas fireplace that lights but won’t stay lit, or flames that look lazy and yellow. Fix: we remove the firebox trim, cut back the kinked section if there’s enough length, and re-attach with a proper draw band. If the kink is too close to the firebox collar, we replace the connector and test draft with a manometer.
- SW liner delamination at the seam weld. DuraFlex SW is a smooth-wall flexible liner. In gas fireplaces with horizontal runs, condensation from the cooler exhaust travels back along the liner and collects at the seam. Over several winters it corrodes the weld from the inside. You won’t see it from the firebox, but a camera scope will show rust staining at the joint. The fireplace will still light, but you’re getting carbon monoxide seepage into the chase. Fix: we scope it, show you the photo, and quote you a section replacement. This is not a caulk job.
- DuraFlex termination cap screen clogging with desert dust. Las Vegas has fine alkaline dust that doesn’t behave like normal soot. It cakes onto the fine mesh on the termination cap, reducing draft until the fireplace starves itself out. The symptom is the unit runs fine for 20 minutes, then shuts off. Fix: we pull the cap, clean the screen, and in homes near construction zones or open desert, we’ll recommend a different cap mesh gauge. It’s a quick fix, but owners who skip it end up replacing a thermocouple they didn’t need to replace.
- Vent-free DuraFlex log sets sooting the firebox glass. If your gas log set isn’t pulling enough combustion air, the flames impinge on the logs and produce carbon soot that coats the glass. In Las Vegas, this gets worse because homes are sealed tight for air conditioning, which means the fireplace is competing for indoor oxygen. The fix isn’t just cleaning the glass. We check the log placement against the DuraFlex spec, clean the burner ports, and often adjust the primary air shutter. It’s a ten-minute adjustment that gas fireplace owners rarely know about.
- The “replacement liner doesn’t fit the old firebox collar” problem. This is a parts nuance you won’t find on the DuraFlex site. Older DuraFlex liners were matched to firebox collars with specific ID/OD tolerances. Newer production runs are slightly different, so a DIYer who orders a replacement liner online gets it home and it won’t seat properly. That’s an hour of frustration and usually a return trip. We keep an assortment of draw bands and reducer couplings on the truck specifically for this, because we’ve seen it enough times to stock for it.

Our DuraFlex Gas Fireplace Repair Process
Here’s exactly what happens when you book a DuraFlex gas fireplace repair with Hadley Chimney Las Vegas. No mystery, no vague window.
- 1
Call and book. You reach a live person at (725) 600-0308. We ask what the fireplace is doing (or not doing), and we give you a live arrival window with tracking when the tech is en route.
- 2
Visual and camera inspection. The tech starts at the firebox, not the roof. We pull the glass or trim and look at the burner, pilot assembly, thermocouple, and the liner connection. If we think the issue is deeper in the run, we scope it with a camera. You’ll see the photos on our device, right there.
- 3
Written price before work. Once we know what’s wrong, you get a written line-item price. No one picks up a tool before you see the number and approve it. If a DuraFlex part isn’t available locally, we tell you the lead time before you commit.
- 4
OEM vs. aftermarket call. For DuraFlex repairs, we default to OEM components when the unit is under warranty or the fit tolerance is tight. If a quality aftermarket draw band or connector matches or exceeds the original spec and saves you money, we’ll tell you and let you decide. We never install the cheapest thing on the truck without saying so.
- 5
Repair and re-test. We make the fix, then fire the unit and check draft, flame pattern, and gas pressure. We test for carbon monoxide at the firebox and at the nearest register before we call it done.
- 6
Photos, invoice, and guarantee. You get before-and-after photos, a digital invoice you pay from your phone, and a written 365-day guarantee on every repair. If the repair fails within the year, we come back free. That’s the 365-Day Done Right Promise, and it’s not an upsell.

Why Las Vegas Homeowners Call Hadley Chimney Las Vegas for DuraFlex Work
Most chimney and gas fireplace companies in Las Vegas can swap a thermocouple. Fewer can look at a DuraFlex liner with a camera and tell you whether you’re looking at a kink, a seam-weld failure, or just dust. That diagnostic difference is why we get calls from Summerlin homeowners who’ve already had another company out twice.
We’ve been at this since 2003, and every repair we make carries a written 365-day guarantee. If it fails, we come back. No arguing. No “well, that’s a different issue.” The Relay Visibility Guarantee backs that promise: live arrival tracking, before-and-after photo documentation, and a written price before work begins. It’s part of being a Relay Home Co. company, and it applies to every DuraFlex job, not just the big ones.
And when a fireplace needs something beyond what DuraFlex makes – a HeatShield ceramic repair on a damaged firebox, or a Gelco chimney cap replacement – we carry those parts and use them regularly. We’re not locked into one brand. We sell the right fix, not the fix that matches our truck inventory.
FAQs
No, not when the work is done by a competent service provider using correct parts and methods, which is exactly how we work. As an independent DuraFlex service provider, we’re not authorized by DuraFlex, but our repairs follow the same standards a warranty station would use. If your unit is still under manufacturer coverage, tell us on the call and we’ll help you understand what your warranty actually covers before we touch anything.
Most common DuraFlex components – connectors, draw bands, termination caps, thermocouple assemblies – are stocked locally by our supply partners, so we can usually source parts same or next day. Specialty liner sections sometimes take 3 – 5 business days. We’ll tell you the lead time before you approve any work. Call (725) 600-0308 and we can check while you’re on the phone.
That depends on the failure. A thermocouple, a burner cleaning, a kinked connector – repair it and move on. A corroded SW liner section or a firebox with a serious crack is a different conversation. Our rule is simple: we show you the camera footage and tell you honestly whether a repair gives you another five years or whether you’re paying good money to buy six months. We’d rather lose a small repair than sell you a bad one.
If the issue is a weak thermocouple or clogged burner ports, you might just get intermittent ignition. But if the problem is a restricted or corroded liner, the unit can push carbon monoxide into your living space instead of up the flue. That’s not alarmism, that’s the physics of gas combustion. If your fireplace is lighting but you notice soot, a strange smell, or the flame looks yellow and listless, call (725) 600-0308. We’d rather show you the photo and explain it straight than leave you guessing what’s going on up there.
Yes. We work on HeatShield ceramic repair systems, Gelco chimney caps, and venting from several other manufacturers. But if you specifically own a DuraFlex product, you’re getting a tech who has pulled apart dozens of them in Las Vegas homes and knows how they wear here. That local wear pattern knowledge is the main reason to call a Las Vegas company instead of a national hotline.
