Worth knowing

Chimney sweep logs do not sweep chimneys. They loosen some creosote - which then falls where a brush and vacuum still have to collect it.

DuraFlex Chimney Sweep in Las Vegas: What to Know First

DuraFlex chimney sweep in Las Vegas typically runs $189 – $329 for a standard Level 1 cleaning and inspection, with most jobs completed in 60 to 90 minutes. We’re an independent DuraFlex service provider – Hadley Chimney Las Vegas – and we work on these liner systems weekly across the Valley. If you own a home with a DuraFlex liner or are considering one, and you need a sweep before burning season, call (725) 600-0308 for a written quote before anyone touches a brush.

This page is for Las Vegas homeowners who already have a DuraFlex flexible liner system, or who just bought a house with one and want to know what they’re dealing with. We’ll cover how these liners hold up in our dry desert climate, the failure modes we see most often, what a proper sweep involves, and what you should expect to pay.

How DuraFlex Products Fail – and How We Fix Them

  • Creosote glazing on DuraFlex 316L liners in wood-burning fireplaces. The smooth interior wall of a DuraFlex liner does a good job moving smoke, but here’s the catch: in Las Vegas, our dry air plus the occasional high-desert cold snap means fires often smolder at low temps overnight. That produces glazed, hardened creosote (the flammable tar buildup that makes chimneys a fire risk) that clings hard to the corrugated ridges. A standard nylon brush won’t cut it. We use a rotary whip system sized specifically to the liner’s internal diameter so we don’t scratch the alloy while breaking the glaze loose.
  • Pinhole corrosion on DuraFlex 316Ti liners in gas fireplace conversions. We see this on older Las Vegas homes where a wood fireplace was converted to gas and a DuraFlex 316Ti liner was dropped in to vent the new insert. The titanium-stabilized alloy resists heat, but our hard water and occasional roof leak over a flashing point can introduce moisture that gets trapped against the liner’s exterior. Over time, tiny pinholes form. During a sweep, we camera-inspect the full length and flag any perforation before it becomes a carbon monoxide path into your living space.
  • Kinked or collapsed sections on DuraFlex Pro liner kits installed with sharp offsets. Las Vegas homes built in the 1990s and early 2000s often have chimneys with tight bends. If the original installer didn’t properly size the offset hardware, the DuraFlex Pro liner can kink at the elbow. We catch this during a Level 2 camera inspection – the symptoms are usually poor draft, smoke spilling into the room when you open the door, or soot collecting unevenly on the firebox walls. We document it with photos and give you a straight answer on whether the liner needs re-supporting or replacing.
  • Soot buildup on DuraFlex liner couplers and connector bands. DuraFlex liners are joined with couplers and band clamps. Those connection points are slightly raised inside the flue, and soot loves to collect on the upstream edge of each joint. If left too long, it becomes a secondary creosote ignition point. Our sweep process includes a deliberate focus on each coupler, and our camera run verifies every joint is clean before we call the job done.
  • Uninsulated DuraFlex liners in unlined masonry chimneys causing backdraft in winter. This is a Las Vegas-specific reality. Our winter mornings can dip into the low 30s, and an uninsulated flexible liner inside a cold masonry chase loses heat fast. The result: sluggish draft, smoke puffing back into the room, and more condensation on the liner wall – which accelerates corrosion. We’ll assess whether adding insulation wrap to your existing DuraFlex liner is worth the cost, or whether the simpler fix is a shorter, hotter startup fire on cold mornings.

Our DuraFlex Chimney Sweep Process

  1. 1
Call and book. A live person answers at (725) 600-0308, 24/7. We ask what fireplace or stove you have, what fuel you burn, and when you last had it swept.
  2. 2
Pre-arrival info. You get a tracked arrival window with live updates, the tech’s name and photo, and a reminder of what we’ll check. No four-hour guess.
  3. 3
On-site inspection. We look at the firebox, the damper, the chimney cap, and the visible liner termination. We run a camera down the full length of the DuraFlex liner before brushing – if there’s a crack, kink, or block, we want to know it exists before our brush finds it for us.
  4. 4
Written quote before work. If the camera shows damage beyond a standard sweep, you get photos texted to you and a line-item price before anyone picks up a tool.
  5. 5
The sweep. We use a rotary system matched to your liner’s diameter, drop cloths, and a vacuum fitted with a HEPA filter. We clean the firebox, the liner interior, the damper, and the smoke shelf if accessible.
  6. 6
After-photos and guarantee. We run the camera again, show you the clean liner on screen, and leave you with a written report. Every sweep comes with our 365-Day Done Right Promise – if something wasn’t done right, we return and make it right.

What DuraFlex Chimney Sweep Costs in Las Vegas

Here are the numbers we quote most often in Las Vegas, accurate as of this season:

  • Standard DuraFlex liner sweep (Level 1): $189 – $249 for a wood-burning fireplace with moderate creosote, no blockages.
  • Heavy glazed creosote removal: $279 – $379 – this is the rotary whip work when buildup is thick or hardened.
  • DuraFlex liner camera inspection (Level 2): $129 – $199 standalone, or bundled with a sweep for $299 – $449 total.
  • DuraFlex liner repair (coupler replacement, re-band, minor patch): $220 – $540 depending on access and parts.
  • Full DuraFlex liner replacement installed: $2,800 – $5,600 including liner, insulation, cap, and labor – we never recommend this without camera evidence you can see yourself.

What moves the price: how tall the chimney is, roof pitch, access to the flue from the roof or firebox, and how long it’s been since the last sweep. You get a written quote before we start – every time, no exceptions. Call (725) 600-0308 for an exact number on your setup.

Why Las Vegas Homeowners Call Hadley Chimney Las Vegas for DuraFlex Work

Most chimney companies in Las Vegas will sweep any liner you point at. Few of them can tell you the difference between a DuraFlex 316L and a DuraFlex Pro before they get on the roof. Our crew – led by Cory Mitchell – has spent years working with DuraFlex systems in homes from Summerlin to Henderson, and we carry the couplers, bands, and connector hardware that match the liner you already have, not whatever is cheapest on the truck.

Every DuraFlex job we do includes The Relay Visibility Guarantee: live arrival tracking, before-and-after photos of the liner interior, and a written price before work begins. Every repair gets a written guarantee covering 365 days, and if the repair fails, the second visit is free. If your liner is beyond a simple fix and needs a HeatShield or Gelco solution, we’ll tell you straight and show you why on camera. No scare-selling, no hidden add-ons – just the photo, the explanation, and a price.
